Best described as a sophisticated bohemian with a propensity for the old fashioned, Kimberly Paul is erudite yet enthralled with the beauty of the simplest things. Her yoga teaching is organic, gritty and honest, a call to the need to slow down and grasp that which is real and personally satisfying. Within an inconocalstic space, she hopes to create a sense of joy that might touch one’s heart, one’s life. An avid traveler, she delights in the life and rituals of the varied cultures she visits. The inspiration for her work and her yoga are found in the surroundings, friends, family, nature, and rich textural details of everyday moments. In 2001 she founded Art&Spirit as a way of combing all that she loved - yoga, beauty, art and travel. Each retreat offers the unique opportunity to immerse oneself deeply in a yoga practice while generating new experiences in select settings around the world. Classes are with Kimberly, as well as with other talented teachers. Creative collaborations with local artists, writers, philosophers, and chefs enrich the experience. Locations are carefully chosen for their beauty and those qualities that lend to the transformative quality of retreat. Ranging from a restored stone farmhouse to century old villas, from private estates and traditional homestays to the most stylish of boutique hotels, all are tastefully designed sanctuaries. In May of 2007, Kimberly purchased an old farmhouse in Camden Maine, where she spends her summers. This move was not a reaction against the complexity of life, but a way to embrace the joyful, spontaneous elements of daily life that seem to be wanting in so much of what we do. |
